Personal Branding for Employment

Introduction to Online Tools and Templates

  • Portfolio Templates: Many platforms provide free and premium templates designed for easy customization (e.g., Wix’s “Student Portfolio” template, WordPress themes like Astra or OceanWP).

  • Content Management Systems (CMS): WordPress is flexible and widely used; Wix and Squarespace offer drag-and-drop simplicity.

  • Design Tools: Canva and Adobe Express help create graphics, banners, and presentations for your portfolio without design experience.

  • Project Hosting: GitHub for code, Google Drive or Dropbox for document sharing, and YouTube or Vimeo for video content.

Activity

  1. Create and Publish a Basic Online Portfolio
Using a chosen platform (LinkedIn, WordPress, Wix, or GitHub), students will build a simple portfolio including a bio, resume, and relevant experiences.
  2. Add 1–2 Case Studies
Students select 1 or 2 academic projects, internships, or volunteer experiences and write detailed case studies based on the structure learned. These should include objectives, personal contributions, and outcomes.
